What
are HDRI images ?
High Dynamic Range Image. A series of photos that are taken
at different exposure levels then combined into a HighRange
image format. The HDR stores the amount of light every pixel
represents instead of on-screen colors that normal bitmaps
do. The advantage is greater dynamic range of light and color.
Photorealistic lighting at its best.
Why should I use them ?
| You don't
have to spend time lighting your scenes with multiple
lighting rigs |
| PhotoRealistic
Illumination and Environment Reflections in your 3d
scenes |
|
Wide-range luminosity data can drastically change
the overall light style of your scene |
Will it work with my 3D Software ?
Most major 3D software today supports the use of
HDRI images while rendering.
Here is a list of 3d software
HDRI tutorials:
Where can I get more
info/Tools ?
Why are
my images rendering too dark ?
Most likely your "output" or "luminosity"
levels are set to default or low values on the HDRI texture
map. Consult with your 3D Software applications Help Topics
for more information.
Why are there 2-3 HDRI images Black/White, and not colored like the rest?
Those specific images had a very saturated color
of either BLUE or YELLOW from the harsh lighting in that particular
scene. I have converted those sets (2-3) of HDRIs to Black/White
so u can still use them as reflective environments. This is
pratical so the HDRI doesn't overfill your scene with a saturated
color. This will allow you to add any color you would like.
Any Tips/Tricks using HDRI Disc01 images ?
Each individual HDRI image set has Environment Reflection
and Skylights , try combining different images to create a new unique scene.
